About Me

I am a photographer by passion. By trade, I work in renewable energy to deliver electricity to the 1.2 billion people around the world that live in energy poverty.

I come from a technical background but I have learned that people are and must always be at the center of technology’s use for development. I work to ensure the sociotechnical sustainability of global clean energy access.

With this professional interest, I try to understand different communities of people from around the world. I ask questions and administer surveys; I observe and photograph.

Photography has become a tool to understand communities.  Perhaps more importantly, photography is a means of fully seeing and meditating on the people or places on the other end of my lens.

I made the photographs seen on this website during work and travels across Argentina, Cambodia, Canada, Costa Rica, Côte d'Ivoire, Botswana, Haiti, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, South Africa, Thailand, The United Kingdom, The United States, Vietnam, and Zambia.

I am currently based between San Francisco, CA, USA and Guatemala City, Guatemala.
